The City of Nacogdoches has initiated Stage 2 of its Drought Contingency Plan. Mandatory water restrictions are now in place. Stage 2 calls for a 30% reduction in irrigation. You must adhere to the following schedule while reducing your consumption:
Even-numbered home and business addresses can only water their lawns:
Thursdays from 8 p.m. until Friday morning at 8 a.m.
and Sundays from 8 p.m. to Monday morning at 8 a.m.
Odd-numbered home and business addresses can only water their lawns:
Wednesdays from 8 p.m. to Thursday morning at 8 a.m.
and Saturdays from 8 p.m. to Sunday morning 8 a.m.
Limited hand watering with an on/off nozzle is permissible to prevent major vegetation loss.
Fines for violators include:
•Minimum Fine $250.00 each day violation continues
•Maximum Fine $2,000 each day violation continues
•Water may be disconnected for repeat violations
Ascending Water Rates are now also in effect. All bills processed after February 15th will be calculated at the new rates. Below is an example of how the rate changes will affect your next bill if your usage is over 10,000 gallons per month.
*The ascending water rate schedule is 1 1/2 times above rates for those residing outside the City limits.
