George and Edna Myrl Grigsby’s son Greg and his family currently run the family farm, and Greg gives all the credit to his mom and dad for the business that he now operates. “They put this farm together by purchasing much of the land from all the heirs over the years,” Greg said.

The present day farm consists of several hundred acres and includes a 16 broiler house farm as well as a cattle operation.
“In addition to broilers, the family manages more than 150 head of cattle,” said Andy Gardner, president of Austin Bank, N.A. - Garrison branch. “Greg operates the farm today along with help from his mother Edna Myrl who takes care of the bookkeeping side of the business.”

Six broiler houses were added to the farm in 1995, two more houses in 1997 and four more houses in 2005. George Grigsby passed away on Nov. 5, 2008, and Greg “picked up where Dad left off.” Four houses were added in 2009 for a total of 16 houses. Currently the Grigsby farm is a grower for Tyson.
