From Texas Association of Business:
In a press release issued Wednesday, Governor Abbott announced that Texans can expect more services and activities to resume over the next few days. This news came after President Donald Trump issued an executive order last week, calling for local leaders to modify or roll back regulations that prevent economic recovery.
Openings to Expect this Week
Effective immediately, driver education programs and food-court dining in malls are allowed to resume operations, with proper safety measures in place. Next, on Friday, May 29, water parks are able to operate at 25% capacity. Recreational sports for adults will resume on Sunday, but competitions and games are still on pause until June 15.
Planning for a New Normal
As Texas continues to reopen, a picture is beginning to emerge of how different sectors may learn to adapt and cope with the ongoing pandemic in the future. For instance, Texas school boards have already begun planning for a potential fall semester with tactics like staggering start times and alternating between online and in-person learning. Airlines have also shifted gears, with many industry members placing emphasis on cleaning and safety protocols to coax anxious customers back into flying.
