Resources available for making informed decisions and for business development
Recently, the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce hosted a webinar through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to discuss the 2019 Novel Coronavirus outbreak. Links were later provided for a follow up webinar and additional resources about the virus including “Interim Guidance for Businesses and Employers to Plan and Respond to Coronavirus Disease 2019.”
SFASU’s Director of Residence Life Winston Baker, pictured left, attended the first webinar held in late January and participated in the conversation that followed with other local business leaders.
“With more than 4,500 students who are housed on SFA’s campus, I need to stay informed and aware of these types of developments,” Baker said. “To my knowledge, the Chamber was the first group in our area to offer information on the Coronavirus outbreak, and I took the opportunity to learn what is happening and how to be best prepared.” Baker applied the information to his personal relationships. “Like most, I care about my family’s well-being,” he said. “I want my 97-year-old mother and my grandchildren to stay safe. I even called my son to remind him and the family to wash their hands!”
The Nacogdoches County Chamber routinely offers business development workshops so that members can find the right tools to reach goals and stay on the cutting edge.
When the need arises, intel relating to current events is shared from credible sources through the Chamber. Easy access to information and resources can make a difference in a business’s success.
