The City of Nacogdoches and the Nacogdoches Parks and Recreation Department are excited to announce the improvements of Pecan and Pioneer Park. All equipment came from GameTime company and funded through the dissolution of the revolving loan fund and the general fund.
Parks staff have removed the existing equipment and mulch this week at Pioneer Park. Installation of the new playground is scheduled to begin next Tuesday, May 28th and should take 13 - 15 business days to complete. This playground will be more castle-like with tall towers and spiral slides.
Similar renovations are planned for Pecan Park, but not yet scheduled. Once begun, it will take about 5 days to install. Once, Pioneer Park is complete Pecan Park will be next on the list--dependent on weather conditions (rain rain go away).
This playground is intended for younger children and has lots of critters and elements low to the ground for imaginative play.
Photos tell it all! We are so thankful to our City Council for choosing our youth and parks as part of the usage of these funds. This will be a great thing for our community!
