The Stephen F. Austin State University Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) is committed to advancing Stephen F. Austin State University’s commitment to diversity and multiculturalism. The OMA creates networks of support for students, staff and faculty that provide opportunities for meaningful cross-cultural interactions and learning experiences that promote respect for diversity.
As diversity educators, we realize the importance of both serving and working with the SFASU and Nacogdoches communities.
Through our work, we ask for support by helping to contribute to one or more of our major programs that we host throughout the year. By supporting our programs, you are helping us to reach the SFASU and Nacogdoches communities by increasing awareness of all cultures and student retention. MLK Day of Service- January 15, 2018
MLK Day of Service honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This day is not a day of selfishness but of selflessness. Participants in this event volunteer their time to perform community service acts at various Nacogdoches agencies. Free lunch and t-shirts are provided to all volunteers who complete their assigned projects.
Diversity Conference – February 9, 2018
The Diversity Conference seeks to provide a platform for presenters to share their diversity-related work with conference attendees and engage in vital multicultural dialogue.
Women’s Empowerment Conference- March 2, 2018
During this summit, we invite participants to develop relationships with other women who strive to make an impact, learn professional development skills, discuss current issues for women today, and learn how to improve personal wellness and much more!
