After attending the NOBLE Scholars Banquet, held Monday, March 1, in the SFA Grand Ballroom, graduating NOBLE students are ready to begin work on future goals.
Each student interested in applying for a NOBLE Scholarship should contact the school's counselor. The scholarship is also available at the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce, 2516 North St. Deadline for scholarship applications to be completed and returned to The Daily Sentinel is April 16, 2010. Kim Luna Snyder with Citizens 1st Bank reminded students during the banquet that the scholarship awardees are able to reapply each year in March at SFA for additional scholarship funds.
The NOBLE Scholar program is a project of the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce that challenges all county public school students to complete the more rigorous “recommended” or “distinguished” program of study during the high school years.
The Chamber's Education Committee chaired by Shirley Luna organizes NOBLE Scholars. The banquet is co-chaired by Robin Dawley and Kayli Steger, and NOBLE scholarship sponsors are Citizens 1st Bank and The Daily Sentinel.
