A commitment contract signing by the Nacogdoches County Chamber Foundation and BancorpSouth marked a big step in a building purchase journey for the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce. "This is the result of a two year effort and will culminate when we close," said Foundation President Rusty Rust.
"Chamber Foundation leaders and volunteers have worked together with BancorpSouth to move forward with purchasing the building at 2516 North St.," said the Chamber's Interim President/CEO Bill Teague. "Thanks to generous donations secured by the Facilities Task Force chaired by Paul Smith III, and financial planning by Chamber Directors, the Nacogdoches County Chamber will continue to serve its members and the community at its current location."
Teague also thanked Stan Sisco at BancorpSouth for the good relationship the Chamber and the bank have shared during the past 13 years that the Chamber has leased the building, and Sisco replied, "It is a pleasure dealing with the Chamber Foundation."
