(Nacogdoches) As the new school year approaches, the Judy B.McDonald Public Library reminds parents and caregivers that it’s not too late for children who need to practice their reading aloud skills to get help. The public library has Reading Buddy volunteers available to assist children every Monday from 3:00-4:00 pm and every Thursday from 6:00-7:00 pm. Volunteers work with children and their parents or caregivers to assist the children with reading fluency and comprehension. The program is free and no registration is required. Children entering grades 1st through 12th are eligible. For more information about Reading Buddies or other library programs, please call 559-2970 or visit www.ci.nacogdoches.tx.us/library.
