The Judy B. McDonald Public Library offers an action-packed summer program schedule with a superhero theme. The first children’s program is Superhero Rides on Tuesday, June 9th at 10:00 a.m.
Children of all ages can explore the vehicles that everyday superheroes such as firefighters, police officers, paramedics, truck drivers and tow-truck drivers use. There will be many vehicles to entertain the crowds and many photo opportunities.
“Join us while we celebrate the superheroes that keep our community safe and clean for us. There are many children’s books around the theme of over-sized vehicles to go along with the program. The program lends itself to many different reading opportunities. We know that a daily habit of reading as little as 20 minutes per day will help prepare students for the upcoming school year. No child is too young to begin enjoying books. We want to do everything we can to make reading fun,” said Mercedes Franks, library director.
The library will have many opportunities for children to be recognized for their reading achievements throughout the summer. This year children will have a chance to enter into a grand prize drawing. Families can join the summer reading club throughout the summer. The next library program will be Every Hero Has a Story Movie Series on Friday, June 12th at 6:30 p.m.
