The Nacogdoches County Chamber's annual Blueberry Golf Bash made use of morning and afternoon starting times to accommodate 175 golfers in the tournament’s 18th edition on April 10 at Piney Woods Country Club.
"With 44 teams, our two starting times helped spread the tournament out,” said Trish Holt, who co-chaired the tournament with Ben Wright.
Holt said 11 teams took off in the brisk morning and 33 teams played in the afternoon at Piney Woods Country Club.
Finishing with the lowest gross score was G.G. Distributing, LLC, shooting a 56. Team members included Sidney Dromgoole, Stetson McMillan and Keith Pasby.
Second low gross was Morgan Insurance, shooting a 58. Team members included Mitch Ashley, Stetson McMillan, Drew Wallace and Keith Pasby.
Low net winner was was SERVPRO® of Lufkin / S. Nacogdoches County, shooting a 46.8. Team members included Patrick Castillo, Scott Bird, Wayne Ramsey and Steve McComb.
Second place low net was Academy Sports & Outdoors, shooting a 49.1. Team members included Shawn Woods, Kevin Guillory, Jeff Woods and Wesley Musick.
Third place low net was Badders Law Firm, shooting a 54.0. Team members included Laurie Stevens, Brian Stevens, Randy Crawford and Sammy Duncan.
Fourth place low net was KFC / DeWitt Hospitality, shooting a 54.0. Team members included Jack DeWitt, Max Greer, Mark Busbee and Steve Sublett.
Tournament meals were provided by Piney Woods Country Club and Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers.
PWCC Pro Shop gift certificates were awarded to the top placing teams, and golfers enjoyed other competitions including the Academy Sports & Outdoors Putting Contest, a Curtis & Clark Energy Services $30,000 cash prize Hole-in-One and a T-REX-S Outdoor Store Polaris Ranger 570 Hole-in-One, Men's and Women's Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin.
The Blueberry Golf Bash raises funds that the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce uses to provide services to members, newcomers and Nacogdoches visitors.
