SFA's Career Services will host a Winning Job Search Strategies event for senior students, and is asking for faculty members to help spread the word.
With the average job search lasting around seven months, the unemployment rate at 8.5 percent (compared to 5.5 percent in 2007), and the underemployment rate at 16.8 percent (compared to 9.6 percent in 2007) for all recent college graduates, the need for job search education could not be more important. The mission of the event is to equip graduating students with information on numerous career options for their major, strategies to enhance the process of securing employment, and goal-oriented action plans needed to beat these statistics and achieve their career goals.
Let’s work together to make sure all of their effort pays off, and help our graduates hit the job market with a competitive edge!
The event will be at for 3 p.m. Monday, March 2, in the Baker Pattillo Student Center Movie Theatre.
