The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) announces two upcoming projects for Nacogdoches County starting January 5, 2015. Both jobs will impact traffic.
According to TxDOT, maintenance crews will be performing work on Business 59/North Street at the intersection of Hospital Street Monday, January 5 through Thursday, January 8, 2015, weather permitting. The job to replace an inlet requires closing the northbound outside lane of BU 59 to traffic daily. The lane closure will also be in place overnight at least once during the four-day schedule.
Motorists should use caution, watching for signage and flaggers to help navigate safely through the work zone.
Meanwhile, a bridge replacement project for Yseleta Creek on County Road 706 in Nacogdoches County requires closing that roadway to traffic at the bridge starting Monday, January 5, 2015.
TxDOT says motorists will be required to use alternate routes to reach their destinations for the duration of the project. The contractor Longview Bridge and Road will be removing the existing structure and replacing it with two 8' x 8' concrete box culverts.
The project costs $217,515 and will take about five months to complete.
