Nacogdoches High School PTA will be hosting a kick-off of the 2014-2015 school year with a “Ring The Bell” Membership Meeting in the 9th grade Commons at NHS on Monday, Sept. 8 at 5:30 pm.
The event will include a 5:15 p.m. performance of the NHS drum line, words from Mayor Roger Van Horn, ribbon cutting by the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce and more.
Parents, educators, and community members are invited to attend the celebration.
The PTA organization is being reformed after a five-year absence and seeks to promote student success.
“Successful students are everyone’s business, and successful schools build successful communities,” said NHS PTA president Leisha Bryant. “… everyone in the community is needed to promote student success, and any and everyone can join and become a part of the PTA.”
The NHS PTA also is seeking input from the community on ways to improve communication with parents and our school image, and challenge perceptions as well as support teachers and staff.
Annual Membership Dues for the PTA are $5 for Students , $10 for Adults/Community members, and $15 for couples.
