Nacogdoches impresses at Maverick Relays, brings home seven first-place finishes

The Nacogdoches varsity boys track and field team finished third and the Lady Dragons finished sixth competing against 10 other schools on Thursday, Feb. 27, at the Maverick Relays in Marshall.

The Dragons boasted first place finishes in shot put, discus, pole vault, 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and 4x200 meter relay.

The Lady Dragons varsity team grabbed three of the top six honors in both the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles, including first place in the 300-meter hurdles.

 Both junior varsity squads finished seventh as a team, with standout performances in the mens’ 4x100 meter relay (second place) and women’s shot put (fourth place).

Nacogdoches will head to Longview on March 7, for the Lobo Relays.
