Have you written a short story or poem that you want to share with the world? Do you love reciting verses from your favorite poem? We have just the event for you!
The City of Nacogdoches Historic Sites Department is hosting a Poetry and Literature Reading on Friday, March 7th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sterne-Hoya House Museum and Library – 211 South Lanana Street.
Come and recite your favorite short story or poem, or read one of your own creations. Anyone who would like to read will need to sign up at the event – first come, first serve. This event is open to all ages and all styles of literature and poetry are welcome.
This event will be held in the backyard of the Sterne-Hoya House Museum and Library. Everyone who attends is encouraged to bring blankets, pillows and/or chairs to sit on. You are also welcome to bring food and drinks. The Friends of Historic Nacogdoches, Inc. will be on hand selling Birds of Tanglewood – a collection of essays about East Texas birds written by famous Nacogdoches poet Karle Wilson Baker. The sale of these books supports their mission and the building of statues in Nacogdoches.
