The Texas State Railroad offers its Valentine's Moonlight Special, Feb. 14. Now you can enjoy the unique combination of a full moon occurring on Valentine's Day while aboard a vintage steam train.
Reception starts at 6 p.m. in the portico at the Palestine Depot: a lovely array of hors d'oeuvres and non-alcoholic sparkling wine under the gazebo before the train departs. At 6:30 p.m., passengers on this romance-themed dinner train will enjoy a peaceful ride through the East Texas Forest Country to Maydelle and back, beneath the glow of a full moon.
Contemporary Catering of Palestine will prepare and serve a scrumptious meal.
Dinner on the train:
Green salad with tomato, cucumber, sliced carrots, mushrooms and croutons and Black Pepper Ranch dressing on the side
Bacon wrapped Filet and Whisky Peach Chicken
Tomato Rice Pilaf
Whole kernel Corn
Rolls and butter
Dessert:
Chocolate and strawberry Parfait with a heart shaped cookie on the side
Drinks:
tea, coffee, water
BYOB (Customer must uncork and serve themselves.)
