City Council is of the mindset that the City of Nacogdoches needs good communication with the people it serves. The City of Nacogdoches launched www.nacwise.com in an effort to listen and better inform its residents about various aspects of city services. “Nac Wise” is the result of officials working to make city government operations more transparent and motivating our citizens to engage with their local government.
Residents, and non residents alike can now log on to www.nacwise.com and take the in depth city wide survey. The online survey expands on the short version of the survey which is currently being distributed inside water bills.
“Listening is crucial to our success and continued development,” says Nacogdoches Mayor Roger Van Horn. “We can better meet our resident’s needs when we listen to what they have to say.” The online survey asks residents to rate a variety of city services.
Also online at www.nacwise.com is a link to our newly launched “Community Voice” module. The community voice module is designed to allow our residents to tell officials what is important to them, what makes their lives easier and what they expect from their city. Residents are encouraged to submit ideas and work together with city officials to make Nacogdoches a better place to live, work and visit. The module is just part of the redesigned website that was launched in late 2013.
“Our new user friendly website allows residents to find out everything they need to know about their city which serves them,” said Communications Director Sarah O’Brien.
“The new city website, www.ci.nacogdoches.tx.us that we recently launched was a big first step in our communication process,” says O’Brien. “Not only does it enable our residents to share their thoughts and concerns through a community survey, but it gives us all a portal to the city that is informative and user friendly.” Residents can sign up for notifications about city news events, view Council agendas and so much more on the website.
