Young Nacogdoches ISD scientists head to state competition next month — one with a project that creates motion without a motor and another team whose project explores an alternative energy.
Nacogdoches middle school students J.D. Bryant, Josh Roy, and Mackey Marlow will compete in the ExxonMobil Texas Science and Engineering Fair at the University of Texas-San Antonio next week, March 26-29.
Bryant, an eighth grader at McMichael Middle School, placed 5th in the physics category at the regional science fair at Kilgore College earlier this month with his Ionocraft, also known as a “high-voltage ion lifter,” which produces thrust without combustion, or moving parts.
Mackey Marlow and Josh Roy, Mike Moses sixth graders, will go the state science fair with their project, "Taming Tides."
