In anticipation of Hotel Fredonia's April 1st birthday, during the month of February, J. McKinney's Restaurant inside Hotel Fredonia is running the "Now & Then" promotion. Come in for breakfast "now" any day in February and receive a voucher to return on February 28th between 6:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. to enjoy a 1950's menu - complete with 1950's pricing. The specialty "then" menu will include four items from J. McKinney's present day menu, all $2.99 or less.
Other recently added special notes at Hotel Fredonia include the "J.D. Special" for $5.95 on the J. McKinney's breakfast menu. Named after J.D. Harkrider, 101 years old and a longtime Hotel Fredonia resident, owner and general manager Susan Pack Reents, wanted to share one of Mr. Harkrider's secrets to his happy, healthy living. It begins each morning in J. McKinney's with two eggs scrambled soft, toast lightly buttered not toasted with strawberry jam and sausage. "We have added coffee to the special and patrons will have the choice of how they prefer their eggs and toast, as well as a choice of sausage, bacon or ham. As Mr. Harkrider heads to baseball spring training for his 15th year in a row, he is definitely doing something right!"
