SFA infuses the area with many opportunities for further education and cultural exploration as well as volunteer opportunities through organizations such as Friends of Theatre and Friends of the SFA Gardens

This dynamic and innovative information center provides books, audiobooks, DVDs, eBooks and eAudiobooks, as well as a wide range of online databases and tools for mastering new languages. The library also offers a variety of programs including technology help and training, S.T.E.A.M. and Makerspace workshops for children, adult events for learning and entertainment. Judy B. McDonald Public Library cardholders also have borrowing privileges at SFA’s Steen Library.



Nacogdoches Senior Center, 936/569-6350

Residents age 60 and older have access to income tax preparation assistance, blood pressure checks and a variety of special interest organizations and recreational classes. Sign up for instruction in art, crafts, bridge and computers, or participate in bands, group singing, holiday celebrations, table games, bingo and day trips. All classes are offered free of charge to seniors.



C.L. Simon Recreation Center, 936/559-2960, www.ci.nacogdoches.tx.us

Martial arts, aerobics, clogging, ballroom dancing and jazz dance are just a sample of the classes available through the city’s recreation center. The C.L. Simon Recreation Center also includes a gymnasium, weight room, gymnastics area and meeting rooms. Visit the website for a complete schedule of events.
