Shop Nac First during Small Business Saturday

Merchants of historic downtown Nacogdoches are gearing up to participate in “Small Business Saturday,” this coming Saturday, November 27th.  But why celebrate and visit Small Businesses? First there was Black Friday, then Cyber Monday. This year, November 27th is the second ever-Small Business Saturday, a day to support the local businesses that create jobs, boost the economy and preserve neighborhoods around the country. Small Business Saturday is a national movement to drive shoppers to local merchants across the U.S. More than a dozen advocacy, public and private organizations have already joined American Express OPEN, the company’s small business unit, in declaring the Saturday after Thanksgiving as Small Business Saturday for the second year in a row.
“We are thrilled with the national attention ‘Small Business Saturday’ is gaining,” said Main Street Manager Sarah O’Brien, “What better way to join the movement and show your support for the Nacogdoches economy than by supporting our local small businesses.” Historic Downtown Nacogdoches will come alive this Saturday with the annual Holiday favorite Wassail Fest, part of the Nine Flags Christmas Festival. Over 14 downtown merchants will be brewing their best wassail. Merchants will be vying for the Wassail Trophy by brewing up their own versions of the holiday apple cider.

“Without a doubt, I can’t imagine a better celebration of Small Business Saturday, anywhere in the country, than right here in downtown Nacogdoches during Wassail Fest,” said O’Brien.

Be sure to check out details for the 2nd Annual “Shop Nac First” for the holiday’s promotion.
