Meetings at the Capitol will be Wednesday, Feb. 18, from 2 to 3 p.m. New meeting room is in the Capitol Extension, Room E2.010.
The Reception is 5:30 to 7:30 at the Omni Austin.
Thursday, a group photo will be setting up on the south steps of the Capitol at 8:30 a.m.
Legislative Briefings on Thursday, Feb. 19 will be held in Capitol Extension, Room E2.036, from 9:15 to 10 a.m.
Recognition on the House floor will take place around 10:45 a.m.
Scheduled events are estimated to end about noon.
Chamber Government Affairs committee chair Scarlett Sloane encourages you to RSVP now if you plan to attend Nacogdoches-SFA Days in Austin presented by Norbord, Feb. 18-19. The two-day event includes briefings with elected officials at the Capitol and a Wednesday evening reception, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Omni Hotel, 700 San Jacinto and 8th St., co-hosted by Sen. Robert Nichols and Rep. Travis Clardy.
"Groups representing our community and individuals meet for a time to interact with the policy makers at the Capitol during the 84th legislative session," Sloane said. "In the Wednesday and Thursday briefings we are focusing on higher education, legislative budget and transportation. Speakers on those topics include Higher Education Coordinating Board Commissioner Raymund Paredes, TxDOT Executive Director General Joe Weber, and State Comptroller Glenn Hegar."
Sen. Nichols and Rep. Clardy plan to be involved in the briefings, and they both welcome the Nacogdoches - SFA group to visit their offices at the Capitol and meet the staff members. Find an event agenda and registration in Hot News at nacogdoches.org and follow in social media - #NacSFADay.
