Kid Fish 2014 is just around and the corner and we can’t wait to get out and fish. The event will take place this Saturday, January 25th from 9:00am to 2:00pm at Lakeside Park, located at 4800 Pearl Street in Nacogdoches. There will be two age divisions this year, 1-8 years and 9-16 years. These two age groups will be competing for prizes in several categories, including Biggest Trout, Smallest Trout, Biggest Fish (any species caught) and Heaviest Stringer. Don’t forget to bring your own bait and tackle! For bait, we recommend canned whole kernel corn.
Kids will be fishing for Rainbow Trout, which have been provided for us by our partners at Texas Parks and Wildlife. There will also be snacks available this year thanks to SFA Gardens, GETCAP Head Start, Suddenlink, General Mills and CCA. With help from our sponsors we hope to put a great event from the entire family this year. So, grab the kids and get fishin’!
