Major Sponsor Announcement and Tournament Updates for Sam Rayburn National High School Open

Stephen F. Austin State University and Lonnie Stanley lend support for High School Anglers

San Augustine, Texas, April 23, 2013 - The San Augustine Chamber of Commerce announced the addition of two major local sponsors to help High School Fishing succeed in its inaugural National Open Fishing Tournament on Sam Rayburn Lake. Stephen F. Austin State University has one of the Nation's most successful Bass Fishing Clubs. SFA has attended the National Bass Fishing Championship for the past 4 years, they also won the very first ESPN Bass Fishing Tournament and recently won the FLW Southern Conference Regional Championships. The SFA bass team will be on hand at the High School block party on Friday night June 21st to present a history of college bass fishing and opportunities for High School Anglers wanting to compete at the college level. SFA will be offering scholarship awards to top anglers at the tournament to be held on Sunday June 23, 2013.

Bass fishing legend Lonnie Stanley 5 time Bass Master Classic qualifier and lure designer knows more about fishing Big Sam rayburn than anyone and will share his knowledge and techniques for figuring out the winning patterns for the early summer bite. Lonnie along with other top pro's will be available to meet and greet high school Anglers at the Friday Block Party as well as the Jackson Hill preregistration cookout. Stanley Jigs will also have plenty of their best products on hand for our young anglers to win.`

Mark Gintert, TBF National Youth Director, believes that with the high interest anglers have in fishing Big Sam Rayburn Lake, the tournament may well attract a large number of teams from across the Nation. "Sam Rayburn is regarded as one of the premier bass fishing lakes in America and a favorite among

the world's top Professionals. East Texas is legendary in the world of competitive bass fishing and there are a lot of young anglers down there that have fishing in their blood", Gintert added.
