The City of Nacogdoches continues to plan for Census 2020. As Chamber members, it is important to talk to your employees about the importance of a complete count in 2020. To help with the effort of getting information out to community members, a committee of stakeholders has been meeting regularly since April 2019 to ensure we are communicating effectively with all of our students at SFA and hard to reach populations. This group includes members from the City of Nacogdoches, SFA, and the County of Nacogdoches. Partnership Specialists from Census 2020 have also been aiding the committee in laying the groundwork for effective outreach and partnerships. Census data affect everyone in the nation. In general, census data guide local decision-makers on where to build new roads, hospitals, childcare and senior centers, schools and more— even where to locate supermarkets, new housing, businesses and other facilities. A complete and accurate count is essential to ensure a better quality of life for everyone. Trust is an important aspect of Census 2020 and the strategic placement of messaging about the importance of filling out a Census to ensure a complete count is imperative so please talk to your employees today and visit this website for more information:
