Stephen F. Austin State University Regent Nelda Luce Blair, pictured, was the keynote speaker at the Fourth Friday Luncheon presented by Nacogdoches I.S.D.

The event was noon to 1 p.m., Feb.  24 at Austin Hall, 4603 North St. Gold sponsors were Nacogdoches Economic Development Corp. and SERVPRO® of Lufkin/S. Nacogdoches County.

Blair's presentation "A Glass Half Full" focused on economic development. "While Texas continues to out-perform the nation economically, the Lone Star State has not been completely without its own difficulties," Blair said. "Yet, Texans are hardy, self-sufficient, and resourceful.  As we move forward into a new age of national leadership, our eyes must be on the positive future, the unique opportunities, and the glass that is half full instead of half empty.”

A proud fifth-generation Texan, Blair is CEO of The Blair Law Firm. She manages a private real estate investment business Blair Investments Global, and oversees operation of the Conroe ISD Education Foundation. As an elected official, Blair led the formation of a new government for The Woodlands and was Founding Chair of The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau. She is a devoted Christian, married to retired lawyer Jim Blair.
