An exciting event comes to Nacogdoches, Texas, Thursday, February 18, 2010.
The third Lone Star Legislative Summit takes place at Stephen F. Austin State University.
We invite state and federal legislators to Nacogdoches during the even years for this event. In addition to presentations and panels on Feb. 18, our plans include a “Candidates Reception” on the evening of Wednesday, Feb. 17. Thursday events will likely begin at 7:30 a.m., include a breakfast, a luncheon and conclude in mid-afternoon.
The most recent Lone Star Legislative Summit was held in February 2008. Speakers included U.S. Representative Louie Gohmert, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples, State Senator Robert Nichols, State Representative Wayne Christian and Phillip Russell, TxDOT. More than 300 attendees participated.
This year we are inviting our U.S. Senators, Governor Rick Perry, Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst, Congressman Louie Gohmert and more.
Topics to be explored in 2010 include: Education, Transportation, Property Rights and Water/Natural Resources. Additional topics may be added.
