Nacogdoches Music Festival slated for March 3-6

Annual Festival Bringing Bands From Across the US

Nacogdoches Music Festival (formerly Big Nac) is scheduled for March 3-6, 2016, in historic downtown Nacogdoches.  The festival will bring bands and performers from several genres and from all over the USA.

Nacogdoches Music Festival is being held in coordination with the Lone Star Legislative Summit presented by Texas Health Care Association, a project of the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce.  The Legislative Summit brings representatives from Austin to Nacogdoches and will have panelists on a variety of topics, one of them being Texas Culture.  “The coordination of the festival and the legislative summit is pushing Nacogdoches into the spotlight around the state,” State Representative Travis Clardy stated.  Representative Clardy is an active member of both the Legislative Summit planning committee and the Music Festival planning committee.

“We are excited to have several of the same performers back from the 2015 festival and look forward to some new bands.  Shinyribs, MilkDrive, Guy Forsyth, Soul Track Mind, Chubby Knuckle Choir, and many others left a lasting impression on festival-goers and will be invited.  The same venues are participating again and we are likely adding one or two more.  We are aiming to spread out into the city in subsequent years as the festival grows,” stated Kati Kennedy, festival committee member.

Ticket sales are available online at and the lineup will be listed there as bands are secured.  “The feedback we received from the first festival was to try to schedule the shows where someone could attend more of them, so they needed to overlap less.  The other feedback was in relation to the ticket price.  We are staggering the show start times to allow festival goers to attend more of the shows.  Ticket prices will not increase and festival goers can choose an all-access pass inclusive of Saturday night’s headlining act, Clay Walker, for $50 or if they do not wish to see that show they can purchase a $35 festival pass.  There will be other shows Saturday night which are included in the $35 pass.  The festival is 4 days long so the ticket price is a value,” said Kennedy.

Nacogdoches Music Festival is held the first weekend in March in historic downtown Nacogdoches.  It is a not-for-profit collaboration and is paid for through sponsorships and ticket sales.  Tickets, sponsorship information, festival lineup and other details are available at
