Special Thanksgiving Farmer’s Market and Ribbon Cutting….
The Nacogdoches Farmer’s Market has a lot to talk about. They will be celebrating their official designation as a 501c3 with the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce with a special ribbon cutting, set for Wednesday, November 26th at 2 p.m. during their annual pre-Thanksgiving market. The Nacogdoches Farmer’s Market has been working on becoming their own self governing organization for the past two years, and is excited to celebrate with everyone from the community. “A lot of hard work went into this process by the vendors and board members,” said Communications & Main Street Director Sarah O’Brien. “It is exciting to be able to grow and develop a program underneath the City & Main Street Umbrella and watch it get to a level where they can succeed on their own accord.” Special thanks to attorney Drew Knowles who was instrumental in the process. The Ribbon Cutting will feature a variety of snacks prepared by vendors and board members using ingredients from the market.
The annual Pre-Thanksgiving Market will be open from 2 to 6:00 p.m. and will feature a variety of items such as jewelry, cookies, breads, soaps, cucumbers, egg plants, garlic, okra, onions, peas, peppers, potatoes, pumpkins, squash, sweet potatoes, organic produce and much more! This Wednesday market marks the last one of the season. Wednesday markets will return in the spring. Customers can still shop year round at the market every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
