WHAT: PAL in the Parks Family Play Date

WHEN: Friday, October 3, 2014, 3:30-5:30 p.m.

WHERE:  Pioneer Park, 501 Lenwood, Nacogdoches, TX 75964

MORE:Nacogdoches Parks Advocacy League (PAL) members hostbi-monthly play dates on the first and third Fridays of each month at various City parks to encourage visitation and knowledge of all the parks managed by the City. The play dates will be held after school from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and are open to all ages.

PAL members believe that the more the Nacogdoches community gets to know their parks from firsthand experience, the more likely they are to frequent them often, enjoy them, and keep an eye out for trash and vandalism.

PAL play dates are also meant to address safety in the park. PAL members, and their children, attend every play date and wear PAL shirts to denote their affiliation and put first-time visitors to the group and the park at ease.

While donations can be made to the group at any time online or through the special tax-deductible fund established with the City, PAL in the Parks play dates are strictly for fun and do not have any costs or necessary equipment associated with them. Families are welcomed to bring snacks or a picnic. Future play dates and locations will be posted on the group’s Facebook page prior to each event.

Nacogdoches PAL (Parks Advocacy League) is a community-action group founded in June 2014 by a group of citizens to improve the aesthetics and function of Nacogdoches City parks and park facilities for year-round enjoyment by the whole community via organized stewardship and funding development.
