The 2008-2009 Leadership Nacogdoches class partnered with the staff and board of the Nacogdoches County Senior Center and area donors to enhance the services provided to area seniors by donating time to renovate the facility.
Please join us for a ribbon cutting celebrating the grand opening of our new media room and thanking those members of our community who donated to the effort.
A nutritious lunch is served Monday through Friday at noon in the Nacogdoches Senior Center, in Chireno, and at the Alzheimer's Activity Center - located in the Nacogdoches Treatment Center.
Area seniors enjoy a wide variety of educational and social activities at the Senior Center, including art, computer and exercise classes, bingo, bridge lessons and dominoes. The new media room will provide a place for guests to socialize, watch movies and enjoy state-of-the-art gaming equipment.
The Nacogdoches County Senior Center also runs the area's Meals on Wheels program and delivers lunch meals to shut-ins throughout the week. Funds not allocated to the renovation project will be donated to this meaningful community effort.
