The Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce Fourth Friday Luncheon will focus on a security issue that concerns everyone – identity fraud.
“The Federal Trade Commission reported that in 2005 more than 8 million U.S. citizens were victims of credit card or bank account identity theft fraud,” said Bruce R. Partain, Chamber President/CEO. “You can rest assured that the problem is only growing, and affects both businesses and individuals.”
Vice President, Chief Information and Security Officer, Tim Leonard with Commercial Bank of Texas will present “I.D. Theft 2009: Arming you with the knowledge to fight identity theft and fraud.” The luncheon, sponsored by Oncor Electric Delivery, is noon to 1 p.m. on Apr. 24 at the Fredonia.
Leonard has worked at CBTx for nine years. He is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University. He is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Cisco Certified Network Associate and Encase Certified Computer Forensics Examiner.
The information presented is vital for all local businesses, and the luncheon serves as the Chamber’s monthly membership meeting. We urge you to attend and stay on top of what is going on at the Chamber and around town. Attendee RSVPs are required by Thursday, Apr. 23.
