Summer Reading at the Public Library
Posted 06 - 10 - 2014

The Judy B. McDonald Public Library launched its summer programs on Saturday, June 7 with a kick-off party and summer reading is now underway.  The library offers programs for children, tweens, teens and adults and the theme this summer is science.  All events are free, but some require registration, so please contact the library to make sure that you save your spot.

Children are invited to record the books they read to receive a prize at the end of the summer.  They may also submit their reading lists at any time to get their names on the Mad Scientist Wall of Fame.

Teens and adults may receive a punch card to record their summer reading progress and be entered in a bi-weekly drawing for a gift card and an end of summer grand prize drawing for a Kindle or Amazon Fire TV.

Among the events taking place this summer will be the ever-popular Touch a Truck, a magic show, Sci-Fi movie night, green cleaning workshop, and much more. Schedules are available at the library or on the library’s website.

For more information, please call the library at 559-2970 or visit the website at http://www.ci.nacogdoches.tx.us
