The Nacogdoches Convention and Visitors Bureau is now accepting submissions for the eighth annual Nacogdoches Azalea Trail Photography Contest.
All entries must be an 8” x 10” photo with an 11” x 14” matte and received between February 1 and February 28. The photographs must include azaleas and must have been taken within Nacogdoches County.
“For years our residents and visitors have been taking beautiful pictures of the local azaleas, and now they will have a chance to show off their skills and help promote the Nacogdoches Azalea Trail at the same time,” said Melissa Sanford, Executive Director of the Nacogdoches Convention & Visitors Bureau.
As part of their entries, photographers must also submit a bio with a maximum of 300 words. Each participant may enter up to three photos, and there is a $5 fee per submission. Entry forms and contest rules are available at the Visitor Center, 200 E. Main, or online at www.nacogdochesazaleas.com. Photos will be judged on composition, creativity, color and reproduction capabilities. Finalists will be selected in March, and cash prizes will be presented to the top three winners. All photos will be on display March 18-29 at The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House, 329 E. Main Street.
The Azalea Trail Photography Contest is part of the sixteenth annual Nacogdoches Azalea Trail, which will be held March 1-31. The annual event will also feature an Azalea Trail Symposium, A Bloomin’ Good Volkswagen Show, Farmer’s Market Spring Fling, Little Princess Garden Party, Tour of Home Gardens and 25 miles of self-guided driving tours.
