The Junior League of Lufkin’s Parent Academy is off to a great start for the 2013-2014 school year! The first parent academy was held at Burley Primary and was attended by parents of first graders. Junior League member Mallory Muhlbach, reading specialist for Burley Primary, gave a very informative presentation to the families on how to help their children read at home and other tips to help the parents with homework. The Junior League also provided dinner for the families. There will be two more Parent Academy nights this year, one in February and one in April.
