The SFA Ladyjack soccer team is currently ranked number one in the nation in shutout percentage (.786), following a pair of shutouts over McNeese State and Abilene Christian in the eighth week of the season.
SFA also ranks fourth in the nation in goals against (.409), while currently sitting just outside the top five in save percentage (.887) at sixth.
“Each of these stats are special benchmarks and are all results of our process in preparation and our identity as a team offensively as much as defensively,” head soccer coach Wally Crittenden said. “We are able to play in a manner that limits the opposition’s time in possession and allows us to concede shots in certain areas of the field that play to both our keeper’s and our back line’s strengths. This would only be possible with a high commitment in possession by all of our players as well as appropriate defensive commitment from our midfield and forwards.”
