City's Historic Landmark Preservation Committee approves Leadership Nacogdoches plan
Posted 08 - 06 - 2013

From left, Leadership Nacogdoches (LN) volunteers Wes Jensen, Calvin White and Murphey Gayler display drawings and a sample of the rail system that will allow loudspeakers to be moved into and out of sight atop the Charles Bright Visitor Center in downtown Nacogdoches. The LN class project will help festival and other downtown event organizers to communicate with large crowds of visitors, and will provide a means to pipe in appropriate music for events.

The 2012-13 Leadership Nacogdoches class appreciates the City of Nacogdoches Historic Landmark Preservation Committee’s (HLPC) vote to approve their community service project. Brian Bray and Sarah O’Brien were particularly helpful in guiding these volunteers.  Volunteers Murphey Gayler, Wes Jensen and Calvin White worked hard to bring a revised, detailed plan. CVB Director Melissa Sanford worked with the volunteers and the City to produce a project that should help many community events.
