All are invited to get to know the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce better during Texas Chamber of Commerce Week, Oct. 20 through 24.
"The chamber is a non-profit business that works to improve the business climate," said Membership and Marketing Manager Kelly Daniel. "The chamber board of directors, staff and volunteers work daily for that purpose, but many in our community may not understand our role in the county. After Governor Perry made the Texas Chamber of Commerce Week proclamation, we saw the opportunity to encourage anyone and everyone to think about what the Nacogdoches County Chamber is doing in our community."
Daniel suggests attending the Chamber events scheduled during the week.
"Tuesday will be a busy day with the County Commissioners and City Commissioners both making proclamations during their meetings. A ribbon cutting at the new location for Coldwell Banker will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, and Bobby Bridwell and Betty Houchin will hold an open house until 2. Another ribbon cutting for Nathan Buys Houses.com is scheduled for Wednesday in the Chamber lobby, and a ribbon cutting and open house for the new office location for the Nacogdoches County United Way will be on Thursday," Daniel said.
Fourth Friday Luncheon will wrap up Texas Chamber of Commerce Week. The topic is “Understanding and Managing Generations in the Workplace,” and is presented by Strategic Government Resources President Greg Anderson. Kelly Services, Inc. is the sponsor. A bonus to the luncheon is the optional, three-hour workshop that will follow the presentation.
The Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce is located at 2516 North Street. Visit the chamber during business hours, call 936-560-5533 or go to www.nacogdoches.org for more information about the chamber of commerce.
