While next school year seems forever away, parents of 2013-14 prekindergarten students need to register this month for the Nacogdoches program.
Children who are four years old on or before Sept. 1, 2013, could qualify for Nacogdoches Independent School District prekindergarten.
However, with limited space available parents are asked to register their future students at the NISD District Support Center, 420 S. Shawnee St. (E.J. Campbell Building) between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on March 27 or 28.
Those who are eligible for the free program include: the educationally disadvantaged and second language learner, both determined by NISD and federal criteria; children in foster care; and children of active duty military parents.
When coming to registration, bring as many of these documents as possible: birth certificate, social security card, immunization record, proof of residency (water, electric bill or other proof) and proof of income.
