Six year old Aidan Peterson(grandson of local Nacogdoches and Lufkin residents and son of CandiceLawson) was diagnosed with AML, a form of leukemia in January after being treated for leukemia as a baby. Sadly, he now needs a bone marrow transplant. None of his family members are a match for Aidan so now he must rely on a total stranger to save his life.
The key to Aidan’s survival is finding a donor, which requires us to raise awareness to register more people. The more publicity we can get for the donor drive, the greater the chance that Aidan and other blood cancer patients can survive!
For more information about Delete Blood Cancer DKMS and to learn more about registering as a bone marrow donor, please visit
*Registering to become a bone marrow donor is more than a cheek swab; it is a commitment to help save a life. You must be between 18 and 55 and in good general health. When you register with Delete Blood Cancer- DKMS, you will also be listed on the Be The Match Registry® (operated by the NMDP) and can be found as a donor match for any patient in need of a bone marrow transplant.
On behalf of all the volunteers and Aidan’s Family, thank you so much for your help and support!!
