NACOGDOCHES - The Helping House will host their Annual Kite Fest April 6 at the A.L. Mangham Jr. Regional Airport in Nacogdoches. There will be a display of 6 to 8 mega-kites, courtesy of WhatAKite in Lufkin. Admission is free for all and the event is held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In addition to the mega-kites display, regular kites and space to fly them will be provided. Food and drink vendors will be present as well as cotton candy and snow cones. Games and activities include kite races, candy drops, bounce houses.

Last year, 1404 people were in attendance according to The Nacogdoches Aero Modelers. The event is held in recognition of Austim Awareness Month and helps raise money for the Helping House.

The Helping House is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing early intervention behavioral therapy for children with autism and other developmental delays, and promoting the educational needs of parents, educators, and professionals.

The Kit Fest is sponsored by Whatakite, Chick-fil-a, and Party N' Things.
