Downtown business opportunity at Wildflower
Posted 12 - 31 - 2012

Wildflower is a unique, antique shop on the historic brick streets of downtown Nacogdoches on El Camino Real de los Tejas. As the owner, I am looking for someone who would be interested in taking over the business. I have been very selective in finding positive, professional people to be a part of this special shop and feel confident that its success can, and will continue to grow with effective leadership.

Wildflower opened its doors on June 1 2009 in a small, quaint building that it outgrew in just four months. In November 2009, the shop moved into a larger space across the street and immediately filled it with more vendors and local artisans. The business continued to grow and build its customer base. In February of 2012, Wildflower had the opportunity to move into a larger space in which it is now located, 404 East Main. It was a good move for the business. Wildflower's return customers have increased and its' sales have doubled most months from the same month the year before.

Wildflower has also won several Main Street awards because of the positive, friendly attitudes of the people in the shop. Wildflower vendors and artisans have worked at a team since it opened. Monthly meetings are held where everyone has input and goals are set. Everyone also works in the shop each month. This not only helps the owner, but keeps vendors and artisans connected to the shop.

Working the shop also gives everyone the opportunity to see what type of merchandise is selling and relate to customers effectively.

John Sloane is the building owner and is a very supportive landlord. He is dedicated to filling our downtown buildings with retail merchants and helps the business owners in any way he can.

Rent is $800 and with utilities, expenses are approximately $1200 per month. Vendor's rent covers these expenses. There are six vendors and five artisans who are wanting to stay in the shop.

Taking over this successful business of three and a half years would give the new owner a head start to continued success and growth. If needed, I would also stay with the shop for a couple of months to help the new owner get started.

We have until February 1st to hear from that special person who wants to have their own business and is looking for just the right place to get started!
