SFA Big Dip Ring Ceremony to take place on Nov. 30
Nearly 250 upperclassman students are preparing to show their purple pride at the “The Big Dip” ring ceremony on Friday, November 30 at Stephen F. Austin State University.
The event is SFA’s official ring presentation ceremony and will begin at noon in the Grand Ballroom at the Stephen F. Austin Baker Pattillo Student Center. Doors will open at 11 a.m. for seating. Students who have purchased a ring are guaranteed seating. Guest seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
During the ceremony, students will be called to come onto the stage, dip their hands in the purple dye and cross the stage to greet Dr. Baker Pattillo, SFA president. Pattillo will present the rings to students. Immediately following the conclusion of the event, a group photo will be taken on the staircase of the student center atrium.
The Bip Dip is a right of passage for upperclassmen as they are soon to graduate and become proud alumni. The ring design incorporates symbols and features specifically chosen to capture the Lumberjack experience.
