Project SOS (Supply Our Schools) - Milestone Year

Project SOS is kicking off the 2012 school supply drive with extra flair this year.  SOS (Supply Our Schools) has been working to benefit children throughout Nacogdoches County for 20 years. The first drive was conducted in 1992, according to Karen Swenson, co-chair of the project.  The project has grown and expanded over the years, but the need is still very great in 2012.  This is the only drive that serves all Nacogdoches county and coordinates directly with local school campuses.

Donations are delivered directly to local schools throughout the county, who in turn distribute them to needy children in their schools.  Most schools have supplies available for the “meet the teacher events.” Those needing assistance should contact their local school counselor or principal.

The 2012 drive is in need of donations.
