NACOGDOCHES - Get ready to rock out at the 2012 Brookshire Brothers Freedom Fest presented by metroPCS! Nickel Draft will be returning to the stage again this year along with new guest, Mondo Domo, on Wednesday, July 4th in Festival Plaza.
Nickel Draft is a Texas Country / Southern Rock band from Nacogdoches, Texas that is comprised of family and friends. They all grew up playing with their dads and various other bands around Nacogdoches. Band members include David Broadway, lead guitar and vocals, Tommy Stanley, drums and vocals, Bo Branton, acoustic guitar and vocals, James Branton, steel guitar and Buddy Heartt, bass and vocals.
Mondo Domo is a rock band out of Lufkin, Texas that originally formed in 1989 in Lufkin but then disbanded in the early nineties. In 2011, Mondo Domo re-formed with four of the original five members, driven by renewed vigor and enthusiasm. The band consists of bass guitarist Patric Ainsworth of Lufkin, rhythm guitarist Tim Brookshire of Lufkin, drummer Jeremy Chance of San Augustine, lead vocalist Robert Davis originally from Brooklyn, New York, and lead guitarist Ted Perryman of Lufkin
The Brookshire Brothers’ Freedom Fest presented by metroPCS will be held on Wednesday, July 4th from 5 to 9:30 p.m. in Festival Plaza. Families can enjoy live music by Nickel Draft and Mondo Domo, festival food, vendors and children’s activities at this annual Independence Day. The evening will culminate in a dazzling fireworks display sponsored by the Nacogdoches Jaycees beginning 30 minutes after dark. Admission to the festival is free.
