 15th Annual Azalea Trail Kicks Off March 1

            NACOGDOCHES – The fifteenth annual Azalea Trail will officially kick off with a ribbon cutting in the Ruby M. Mize Azalea Garden on Friday, March 1 at 4 p.m. The President of the Azalea Society of America, John Migas, will be present along with Barbara Stump, Project Coordinator for the Ruby M. Mize Azalea Garden.

Enjoy light hors d’oeuvres and refreshments as you walk through the stunning 8 acre Azalea garden. Admission is free.

The fifteenth annual Azalea Trail will be held March 1-31 and it features 25 miles of self-guided driving routes that meander through the city and include the stunning Ruby M. Mize Azalea Garden – the largest in the state of Texas.

Each trail begins at the Visitor Center, located at 200 E. Main St. in historic downtown Nacogdoches. Color-coded signs mark the routes, and maps are available at the Visitor Center.

Every weekend of the Azalea Trail will also feature at least one special event, including a Running of the Blooms 10K race, a Garden Tour of Homes, an Azalea Trail Symposium, a Little Princess Tea Party, a Floral Design Exhibit, a Farmer’s Market Spring Fling and a Photography Show.
