The 2013 Expanding Your Horizons Conference is promoted by the American Association of University Women. Over 500 middle-school girls from all over East Texas converge on the SFA campus to attend workshops that explain career options and what educational paths need to be taken to get those jobs. Girls are encouraged to have the confidence to take more difficult classes in math and sciences. The conference is packed with over 30 workshops to choose from, school competitions, door prizes, t-shirts, lunch and having fun visiting a college campus. The inspiring workshop leaders give the girls hands-on projects and career information. AAUW's emphasis is on raising expectations for girls by giving them high educational and career goals.

The conference is held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at SFASU. Registration forms are available at www.aauwtexas.org/branches/nacogdoches/index.html.  AAUW invites women to join the organization to take part in this conference and other community projects.
